Now that your offer has been accepted, it’s time to submit your earnest money deposit!
Earnest money is a good-faith deposit that shows your commitment to purchasing the home. This money is credited toward your purchase at closing.
Your purchase agreement specifies the amount and deadline for delivery; typically, we like to have it within two business days of acceptance.
The good news? It’s easier than ever! Most brokerages offer a secure online payment option, allowing you to submit your earnest money electronically.
We’ll send you the payment link and any instructions you need to complete the process. If you prefer, you can also pay by personal or certified check, following the listing brokerage’s instructions. If paying by check, we’ll ask you to send us a photo for tracking purposes.
Whichever method you choose, we’ll help make sure your deposit is submitted on time.
We prepare and send your customized “Next Steps Letter.”
This is one of the ways the Lee Ann & Betzy ensures you always know what’s coming next. The letter outlines:
- The exact dates and deadlines in your contract
- What was agreed upon during negotiations
- Your inspection timeline
- Financing and appraisal milestones
- What we need from you and when
This document becomes your roadmap, helping you stay organized and confident throughout the process.
After these initial steps, you will receive regular emails from us that act as gentle reminders and clear instructions for each phase ahead. These updates ensure nothing is missed and that you always understand where you are in the journey.
From contract-to-close, communication is constant, transparent, and proactive. This is where our experience makes a difference—we anticipate questions before they arise, stay ahead of deadlines, and maintain communication with your lender, the listing agent, and all parties involved.
You’ve reached an important turning point, and we’ll be right beside you for every step that follows. Your new home is officially on the horizon.
